CHRISTMAS SING-ALONG

Just got back from a delightful Christmas sing-along at the Library Center where the Springfield Accordion Club gave a most enjoyable performance. Everyone was encouraged to sing along with them as they played their accordions. Oh, what a happy instrument. It goes right with the banjo as one of the happiest instruments (though not easy) to play.
Eric and Daniel went with me to the concert and were very well behaved. During the intermission they got a large cinnamon roll and a very large sugar cookie to tide them over. They even sang along to some of the songs. One of my favorites is
************************************************
The Christmas Song by Mel Torme (c) 1946
.
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yule-tide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like Eskimos.
.
Everybody knows a turkey
and some mistletoe
Help to make the season bright
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight.
.
They know that Santa's on his way
He's loaded lots of toys
and goodies on his sleigh
And every mother's child is gonna spy
To see if reindeer
really know how to fly.
.
And so I'm offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to niney-two
Although it's been said
many times, many ways
Merry Christmas to you.

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL YOU COOL CATS!
