CHECKING IN
THANK YOU everyone for your prayers and concern! We are SO THANKFUL for the blessings we have been given. It's very humbling when so many around us are having a much more difficult time of it. One of our friends lost their beautiful apple tree and her 7 year old daughter asked her why God did this and her response was "Two reasons. One, the pruning of the trees and second, pruning of our souls". How are we treating our neighbors? This is a testing of what matters most to us. A real workout for our spiritual muscles.
I've been giving the knitting needles quite a workout too. I finished the sweater made from a pattern from the May 2006 issue of Creative Knitting magazine. Then made the hat that went along with the sweater, just changed the coloring. The fun fur is now out of the stash:D I'm sure the kids will have a good time with the hats. I also gathered some small balls of leftover wool yarn and whipped up another hat. Guess I'll whip up some preemie hat/booties now. The boys won't go back to school until at least next Tuesday. Hope cabin fever won't get too bad. It's too dangerous for them to go outside and play. So many of the broken limbs are still hanging on at the top of the trees. Folks, it's a real mess out there!!! Take care everyone! Please keep praying and your needles clicking:D

We lost several large trees in front of our home after a hurricane in 2003, and one of them smashed our car. I grieved the trees more than the cars!
Like all living things, trees have an end too.

Glad you're safe! We've had it here in Colorado but I guess we're a bit more ready for it!
I'm a Catholic knitter too -- I homeschool my littles so I have a blog about that and my knitting blog also has lots Catholic content -- stop by and check 'em out!
Blessings,

Glad to hear you weathered the storm! Hopefully, the snow that's on the way won't cause more problems and just provide even more knitting inspiration! We were fortunate as well - only without power for a couple of days. Thank the Lord for lighted knitting needles (and His many other blessings)!
