A Little Bit Of Help For Joplin

After the terrible event May 22, 2011, of the tornado in Joplin, I bought a little more cotton and knit up 21 cloths and put them with Ivory soap in baggies to donate to our local American Red Cross for their comfort kits. I'm currently working on a round blanket for our local Newborns In Need and have a light blue blanket that is intended for a bereavement blanket that's almost halfway done. So much I want to accomplish but it's just one stitch at a time anyways.
Our family and some friends worked a few days at the Convoy of Hope warehouse (HUGE! 300,000 square feet= seven acres. Reminds one of the warehouse the Ark of the Covenant was hidden in Raiders of the Lost Ark) for a couple of hours for four days. They have open volunteering every Tuesday 6:30-8:30. We may go again but we have other things going on right now. SEAS (Saint Elisabeth Ann Seton) is having their garage sale which ends today.
Michael has summer school and Daniel has a couple of weeks worth of art classes coming up. I will be a busy mom.
There's been an incredible outpouring of kindness for those in Joplin. I hope as the months and years go on we won't forget to, at the very least, send up some prayers for their recovery. We do not journey this life alone. Let us always be of thankful hearts and open to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Amen!
