Hear our prayer, O Lord, we beseech Thee, as we venerate Saint Therese, Thy virgin and martyr of love and longing to make Thee loved, and grant us, through her intercession, the gift of childlike simplicity and the spirit of complete dedication to Thy divine service, Thou who livest and reignest world without end. R. Amen.

St. Therese of the Child Jesus, The "Little Flower"; Born in 1873 in France of middle-class parents, the youngest of nine children, St. Therese entered the Carmelite convent in Lisieux at age 15 and lived a hidden life of great love of God through the practice of her "Little Way." She died in 1897 at age 24 after writing her autobiography, "The Story of a Soul", one of the most widely read spiritual books of all time. With St. Francis Xavier, she is Patron of the Missions. St. Pius X called St. Therese "the greatest saint of modern times."
