Bereavement Shawl

Using US8 needles, Plymouth Yarn Dreamin', Cascade Yarns Cherub Aran, and Patons Beehive Baby Sport and THIS pattern for the Triangular Garter Stitch Shawl, this measures approx. 39"x70".  It's headed to St. Paul, Minnesota in honor of the Ravelry group Wrapped In Care.  It's for some woman who has lost her baby, and making bereavement shawls is what this group does.  A few years ago I made a blue one and so now I got enough courage to knit up a pink/white one.  A lot of tears and prayers for the recipient goes into making one of these.
ps. The link doesn't want to work, but the site is of the Rainey sisters who wrote up the pattern.  You may try the Ravelry group too to find the link.

Ready For School

Ready for grade 7 and 2.  We are too;~)

A Big One For The Hawkeyes

This blanket measures approx. 40"x55".  I used US8 needles and cast on 200 sts.  I knit 20 rows and then continued knitting every first and last 20 sts and purling the middle 160 sts every even row.  After 120 rows of black I joined the lemon and did another 120 rows before binding off. The yarn is Caron Simply Soft.  This will be for the annual Hawkeye donation for The Preemie Project.
