May God have mercy on America if we allow Terri Shiavo to die this unjust and inhumane death!! LIFE, LIBERTY, AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS indeed!! The repercussions of this act will not be pleasant and none of us can afford to keep our voices silent while this attrocity is before our very eyes. NO ONE should have the right to decide who lives and dies ESPECIALLY with the circumstances surrounding this case. It makes me ashamed to be an American if this can go on to it's finality. My thoughts and prayers go out to all involved. As a Catholic who does believe that God will indeed have the final word, I believe Terri will be with our Savior when all is done. The precident this sets for the rest of us pilgrims is NOT TO BE TOLLERATED. Rise up and fight all you Chistian soldiers and know that the might of heaven is on your side!!

OK, I've had my rant, but I've been so upset and heartsick about this that it has to come out. The lovely spring weather has been a blessing. I've comleted two more scarves and two caps for the Dulaan Project. Have finished cutting out quilt for Daniel. Have started a crochet afghan which does tend to go faster. It's similar to one I did in high school and I hope to have pictures posted in a few days. The plants Daniel and I started indoors are about ready to be transfered outside. Last night Daniel and I went shoe shopping and he chose a cute Thomas the Train pair that light up when he walks. He's been playing with them all day. Well, that's it for now. May God Bless each one who visits this blog site!! ++++++++++++

LITANY OF THE SORROWFUL MOTHER

LITANY OF THE SORROWFUL MOTHER
(For private use only.)

Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, hear us.
Christ, graciously hear us.
God the Father of Heaven,
Have mercy on us.
God the Son, Redeemer of the world,
Have mercy on us.
God the Holy Ghost,
Have mercy on us.
Holy Trinity, One God,
Have mercy on us.

Holy Mary, conceived without sin,
Pray for us.
Holy Mother of God,
Pray for us.
Mother of Christ, etc.
Mother of Our Saviour Crucified,
Mother most Sorrowful,
Mother most tearful,
Mother most afflicted,
Mother most lonely,
Mother most desolate,
Mother pierced by the sword of sorrow,
Queen of martyrs,
Comfort of the sorrowful,
Help of the needy,
Protectress of the forsaken,
Supportress of the forsaken,
Support of widows and orphans,
Health of the sick,
Hope of the troubled,
Haven of the ship-wrecked,
Refuge of sinners,
Hope of the despairing,
Mother of mercy,

Through thy poverty in the stable of Bethlehem,
Through thy sorrow at the prophecy of Simeon,
Through thy sad flight into Egypt,
Through thy anxiety when seeking thy lost Child,
Through thy grief when seeing thy divine Son persecuted,
Through thy fear and anxiety when Jesus was apprehended,
Through thy pain caused by the treason of Judas and the denial of Peter,
Through thy sad meeting with Jesus on the way of the Cross,
Through the tortures of thy loving Heart at the Crucifixion of Jesus,
Through thy agony at the death of Jesus,
Through the sword of sorrow that pierced thy heart when the side of Jesus was
transfixed by the lance,
Through thy lamentations over the dead Body of thy divine Son lying on thy
bosom,
Through thy deep mourning at His tomb,
Through thy desolation after the burial of Jesus,
Through the tears thou didst shed for thy beloved Son,
Through thy wonderful resignation to the will of God in all thy sufferings,

O Queen of peace,
In all our tribulations,
In our illnesses and pains,
In our sorrows and afflictions,
In our need and destitution,
In our fears and dangers,
In the hour of our death,
On the Day of Judgment,

Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world,
Spare us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world,
Graciously hear us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world,
Have mercy on us, O Lord.

V. Pray for us, O Sorrowful Virgin,
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let Us Pray
We beseech Thee, O Lord Jesus Christ, let Thy Mother, the Blessed
Virgin Mary, whose holy soul was pierced by a sword of sorrow at the hour of Thy Passion, implore Thy mercy for us, both now and at the hour of our death, Who livest and reignest,
world without end. R. Amen.

JESUS, MARY, JOSEPH I love you!!! SAVE SOULS!!!

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and
born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

PRAYER BEFORE A CRUCIFIX

Look down upon me, good and gentle Jesus, while before your face I humbly kneel, and with a burning soul pray and beseech you to fix deep in my heart lively sentiments of faith, hope and charity, true contrition for my sins, and a firm purpose of amendment, while I contemplate with great love and tender pity your five wounds, pondering over them within me, calling to mind the words which David, your prophet, said of you, my good Jesus: "They have pierced my hands and my feet; they have numbered all my bones" (Ps 21, 17-18).

STATIONS OF THE CROSS

1. JESUS IS CONDEMNED TO DEATH
O Jesus, help me to appreciate Your sanctifying grace more and more.

2. JESUS BEARS HIS CROSS
O Jesus, You chose to die for me. Help me to love You always with all my heart.

3. JESUS FALLS THE FIRST TIME
O Jesus, make me strong to conquer my wicked passions, and to rise quickly from sin.

4. JESUS MEETS HIS MOTHER
O Jesus, grant me a tender love for Your Mother, who offered You for love of me.

5. JESUS IS HELPED BY SIMON
O Jesus, like Simon lead me ever closer to You through my daily crosses and trials.

6. JESUS AND VERONICA
O Jesus, imprint Your image on my heart that I may be faithful to You all my life.

7. JESUS FALL A SECOND TIME
O Jesus, I repent for having offended You. Grant me forgiveness of all my sins.

8. JESUS SPEAKS TO THE WOMEN
O Jesus, grant me tears of compassion for Your sufferings and of sorrow for my sins.

9. JESUS FALLS A THIRD TIME
O Jesus, let me never yield to despair. Let me come to You in hardship and spiritual distress.

10. HE IS STRIPPED OF HIS GARMENTS
O Jesus, let me sacrifice all my attachments rather than imperil the divine life of my soul.

11. JESUS IS NAILED TO THE CROSS
O Jesus, strengthen my faith and increase my love for You. Help me to accept my crosses.

12. JESUS DIES ON THE CROSS
O Jesus, I thank You for making me a child of God. Help me to forgive others.

13. JESUS IS TAKEN DOWN FROM THE CROSS
O Jesus, through the intercession of Your holy Mother, let me be pleasing to You.

14. JESUS IS LAID IN THE TOMB
O Jesus, strengthen my will to live for You on earth and bring me to eternal bliss in heaven.

Jesus, You became an example of humility, obedience and patience, and preceded me on the way of life bearing Your Cross. Grant that, inflamed with Your love, I may cheerfully take upon myself the sweet yoke of Your Gospel together with the mortification of the Cross and follow You as a true disciple so that I may be united with You in heaven. Amen.

Monday of Holy Week

My baby has a new tooth! It broke through yesterday and I noticed it while attending Mass at St. Agnes Cathedral here in Springfield. #1 is spending a couple of days with friends and since they attend there we decided to go too. Father Michael McDevitt is one of the priests there and he is the one who baptised #1 son Eric in Poplar Bluff. Eric wanted to show Father and his friend Jon's mom how well he can play the cello, so he got to play a couple of songs after mass for those who were there. Eric did a fine job and we are very proud. He's first seat at his school.
#2 son has decided after having a bad dream that Mom needs to make a quilt for him to help get rid of them. OK..... so I get into my small stash of material and have cut out most of fabric into (largeish) letter size blocks. Had to purchase a few more solid colors to add and then the sewing begins. It must be very hard to be in the middle. He's six years younger than the oldest and five years older than the youngest. He is constantly on the move and is such a loving and caring little boy. A little (OK a LOT) impatient about the quilt (is it done yet Mom?), but he is very generous with his help especially since I believe he tries to out do big brother when he helps.
Tried to post some pictures but am having technical difficulties, so please stay tuned.
Have added a few more links and after feeding #3 son am ready for a short nap. With this I leave with a prayer
Protect us, Lord, as we stay awake;
watch over us as we sleep,
that awake, we may keep watch with Christ,
and asleep, rest in his peace.
May God Bless us all!

Prayer to Saint Joseph
O Saint Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in thee all my interests and desires. O thou Saint Joseph, do assist me by thy powerful intercession, and obtain for me from thy divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, Our Lord; so that, having engaged here below thy heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of fathers. O Saint Joseph, I never weary contemplating thee, and Jesus asleep in thy arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near thy heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me, and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. Saint Joseph, Patron of departing souls, pray for me. R. Amen.

I humbly ask all who visit here to pray for Terri Shiavo that her right to live may be upheld.

You Are Welcome!

Thank you Lisa for responding and for doing such a wonderful thing in adopting that precious life! God bless you for it!
Have been working on the Dulaan Project scarves and will soon cast on for some hats.
#1 son and I shopped at Hobby Lobby last Saturday and came away with a whole bunch of different yarn thanks in part to son wanting me to make something out of various different yarns. (This was the first time he shopped for yarn with his Momma). We recycled, bought stamps, donated books to the library book sale, checked out some books(he's interested in ancient cultures and tools right now), ate at Panera Bread Bakery-Cafe for the first time(he tried the hot Smokehouse Turkey sandwich and I the cold Sierra Turkey sandwich), we thought they were good though a bit pricey, recycled plastic bags at Wal Mart and did the week's shopping. By the time we got home we were tired, thirsty and hungry. I'm glad to have the one-on-one time with my first born, as he will be grown up all too soon for my liking.
He is doing very well with his cello and will be getting an early birthday present as his Dad ordered a cello for his very own, though he doesn't suspect a thing. I am so grateful he is doing so well in this area. I pray he keeps with it.
Well must go for now and begin supper.
God bless all who visit here.

1st Saturday

Yesterday was the first Friday of the month. Was thankfully able to go to Mass with husband, Daniel, and Michael. Attended the prayer group for the Apostolate of Holy Motherhood and was blessed by all the women there. Thanks again to JoAnn for the invitation and for being such a wonderful friend and example. God Bless You!
Today is the first Saturday of the month. Our Lady has promised "The gates of Hell will be closed on the First Saturdays of each month. Nobody will go to Hell on those days. However, the gates of Purgatory will be open. So, many souls will be able to reach Heaven. It is the result of the merciful Love of My Son - it is the reward of those souls who venerate My Immaculate Heart."
Glory be to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit!!!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Marching Along

Hubby had to get the new Spoungebob DVD and had him pick up some more Homespun for yet another scarf. Am working now on an Irish walking scarf, creamy white, soft and very pretty, but much more time consuming.
Sent a short message to the Pope yesterday at john_paul_ii@vatican.va. Got address from Spiritdaily.com a site I frequent daily and recommend to all.
May God bless everyone who comes here to visit.
