Weekend Knitting

This weekend I knit up the remnants of my cotton yarns into pads for the local Humane Society.  Doubling the yarn I cast on 63 sts onto a US11 needle.  I knit 120 rows and bound off.

Variations On Elf Hats

This pattern shape lends itself to the candy corn and I used some Red Heart Shimmer to make the other look like the simmering snow.  I'm enjoying the variety of looks made with different yarns:~D

Happy Birthday Dear Holy Mother

Today we celebrate the birth of Mary Our Blessed Mother.
While doing some more cleaning in the garage I came across my pumpkin collection.  I always like fall decor.
Norm took me to The Feathered Nest in Ozark this morning and I bought this pretty spoon magnet.  "Aunt Ruthie" at the blog Warm Pie Happy Home made it.  It looks so pretty on the fridge:~D

PLARN

While doing some cleaning in the garage I came across several plastic bags which inspired me to make plarn(plastic yarn) for my crochet mat.  This is the biggest ball I've done so far.  I didn't count all the bags but there were two bags full of left over plastic bits when I was finished.

Jolly Elf Hats

I used US6 needles, Caron Simply Soft and the Easy Preemie Santa Hat pattern from Ravelry.  I modified the pattern for the full term, medium and small preemie sizes by using the Carewear Basic Hat pattern for lengths.

Soft Blanket In Pastels

Using US7 needles, Wendy and Peter Pan Velvet Touch, Plymouth Yarn Jeannee, Patons Beehive Baby Sport, Plymouth Yarn Dreambaby DK, and Grandmother's Favorite pattern knitting up to 220 sts; this blanket measures approx. 39"x39".

Opportunities To Give To Those Who Have Lost A Pregnancy

Here, here and here.

In Honor Of The Eastwood Empty Chair

This chair has seen better days.  In fact the utilization of duck tape shows that it has been helped as much as it could be.  It is on its way out (like we hope our current president will be).  We love you Mr. Eastwood!!!

Eight And Feeling Great

Showing off the necklace he had made in summer school.  He's my hero:~D
