TURNING A CORNER

On to the other long row of the tablecloth. Feeling like I've made some progress anyways.
Poor Daniel came down with the stomach flu Tuesday morning, and today feels up to getting back to school. Oh, I hate when my babies are sick!! Hopefully that will be it for the sick for a while.(please!)
Tomorrow night is the last Knit-In at Simply Fibers this go-'round. I hope to attend. I'll probably work on another Papipad. I'll start using up the odd balls of Caron Simply soft while making these. The Preemie Project has requested more pastel items, so I'll use my other colors for the Papipads. It is a good feeling to use up my scraps of yarn for something I know is appreciated and used for a good cause!
Oh, and as a random act of kindness I sent the red and purple jacket/hat to Cara who had a surprise shower this past Saturday. I hope she liked the gift. It was a quick and fun knit.
Well, it's back to the laundry. Be well and treasure the day. God bless!

I CONFESS... I PLAYED HOOKY

It's not something I'm proud of and I don't promote it to my children. I just had to KNIT yesterday. I made a couple of washcloths, one a kitty(from http://digknittydesigns.blogspot.com) and one a pineapple(from Rainy Kimbrough). I also finished a matching hat for Daniel. I was so nervous about the weather I just needed to keep my hands busy knitting. I worked on another Papipad and I feel ok about it.
Today it's back to the program and I'm ok with that too.
ps. Daniel made the paper flower for me. I love it!!!

WEDNESDAY AGAIN?

Wow! The days are really moving along aren't they. I took some time away from the tablecloth and focused on finishing the mittens Daniel wanted. He's pretty happy with them. He thinks they look a bit like boxing gloves. My MIL called and liked the cloths sent. I'm feeling great knitter satisfaction:~D
Michael was sick one day with a fever and DH is slowly getting better. I was feeling a bit poorly myself but thankfully am feeling much better.
So, now it's time to get some more done on the tablecloth. It felt so good to get some quick knitting done, but I really want to get the tablecloth done and sent so I can focus on the knitting that really needs to get done. I intend to focus on the tablecloth for the rest of this month and consider stopping and finishing Norms Cobblestone Pullover before the month of March is done. We shall see.

PRAYER FOR PATIENCE
Lord Jesus, you are the model of patience and its reward. Urge me to patience and grant it to me. Your own example strengthens me in every conflict, and the reward of my endurance is the gift of your presence. Either way, you win me to yourself. Beckon me on, then; gladly let me follow, and yet even more gladly let me take joy in your presence. For if you are so good to those who seek, what will you not be to those who find? Amen.

SUNDAY UPDATE

Two more Papipads were delivered to Simply Fibers. This afternoon Daniel and I dropped them off and he chose some Cascade 220 in black for some more mittens in school colors. I believe I have some yellow left in my stash. I would have loved to have been able to knit with the crowd today, but Daniel and I had an errand to run.
Poor hubby has the flu and so asked me to get some green tea and so I did. Also got some more honey, which had helped Eric to ease his symptoms.
Hope everyone is feeling well and warm. Take care!

DAILY PRAYER DURING SICKNESS
Almighty God, I receive this sickness as coming from your hand. It is your will that it should come to me, and I accept it from your fatherly hand. I offer this sickness in honor of your Holy Name and for the good of my soul. I am your creature and I am pleased to suffer what you will for as long as you please and in whatever manner you please, for I have offended you with my lack of gratitude and the severity of my sins.
Truly I deserve your rebuke but look upon my weakness and deal with me not according to my sins but according to your compassion and tender mercy. Give me the strength to bear with patience all the pains, discomforts, anxieties, and trials of my sickness. If it is your will that this sickness is my last, I ask of you to direct me by your grace so that I may receive those sacraments which you have instituted for the good of my soul, to prepare it for its passage into eternity. I put my whole trust in you, dear Lord, and love you above all things. Through the merits of your passion and death, may I be admitted into the company of the blessed, there to reside with you forever and ever. Amen.

THERE HAS BEEN KNITTING

Thankfully have finished the Geordie Stripe Yoke Jacket in the 12 month size from "Natural Knits For Babies and Moms" by Louisa Harding. Added a simple hat from Diane's Knitting. It will be mailed off today.
I also knit up a Construction Worker cloth from Susan's Knit Patterns.(sorry no link but you could google her.) Plus a valentine-surprise cloth both for my MIL who has moved into her own place. Now I need to do some more work on the tablecloth. I estimate it will take at least another month to finish this. Quite frankly I'd rather be knitting but I really want to get it finished and ready to give before I really need to.

PRAYER OF POPE JOHN PAUL II FOR THE FAMILY
Lord God, from You every family in heaven and on earth takes its name. Father, You are love and life.
Through Your Son, Jesus Christ, born of woman, and through the Holy Spirit, the fountain of divine charity, grant that every family on earth may become for each successive generation a true shrine of life and love.
Grant that Your grace may guide the thoughts and actions of husbands and wives for the good of their families and of all the families in the world.
Grant that the young may find in the family solid support for their human dignity and for their growth in truth and love.
Grant that love, strengthened by the grace of the sacrament of marriage, may prove mightier than all the weaknesses and trials through which our families sometimes pass.
Through the intercession of the Holy Family of Nazareth, grant that the Church may fruitfully carry out her worldwide mission in the family and through the family.
We ask this of You, who is life, truth, and love with the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

THUNDERATION!

Well, here we go with the icy weather again. I was going to post earlier today, but it had been thundering pretty loudly. Some limbs that had been damaged by the last ice storm have fallen down. So far the cloths line is surviving;~P
I need to post about the lovely gifts I received last week from Knit Nana's blogaversary contest. Some lovely soft yarn, a red dress pin, and some nice mints in a small tin that will come in handy. Thank you Sallee for a lovely prize:~D
This Sunday, it was nice to knit at Simply Fibers again and this time meet up with Tammy and Sarah. I wanted to use up the last skein of yarn I had from my last Clapotis. So, I am making an Easy Lace Scarf.
We were planning on going to the Latin Mass but failed to get the news that the time was to be a 2pm and not 4pm as we had last heard. Oh well, there's always next month and we weren't the only ones who didn't get the memo either. We made it to St. Agnes instead.
Today while working on the tablecloth I finally got the inner lacy part done and am working on the stems and leaves in the inner part before I go knit on something.
Hope everyone is keeping well and warm. Today is the 150th anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady of Lourdes. St. Bernadette is one of my favorite saints as she is so plain and simple and she suffered with such dignity. Her body lies incorrupt in Nevers, France.

ASH WEDNESDAY UPDATE

Have some really good ideas of how to celebrate Lent at Domestic-Church.
Will continue on the tablecloth and be grateful I started when I did.
Michael is fixated on "baseball" and carries one in his hand almost all day and needs it in his crib before going to sleep. It will soon be time for Daniel to begin playing again.
I'm so grateful that my feet are healing!!! It's scary to think I was poisoning myself on stuff that should have been helping me. I feel so much better than I had been:~D
Hope to attend mass this evening and will try a new recipe.
May you all have a blessed Ash Wednesday!!!

BOOK MEME

Catholic Caveman called on me to do this Book Meme:
1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people.

From "The How-To Book of Catholic Devotions" by Mike Aquilina and Regis J. Flaherty

Have I boasted about myself or my work?
Have I been dishonest--with my employer, my family, the tax officials, or anyone else?
Have I placed false information on forms or in reports at work or at school?

Ok, that's from the chapter on "Examination of Conscience". Won't tag anyone unless you care to do this.

SOME TIME FOR MOM

I spent about 3 hours this afternoon at Simply Fibers knitting on a papipad and enjoying the company of some fabulous knitters. Some delicious healthy refreshments were had, and some fabulous yarns were fondled. Simply Fibers will be open on Sundays in February from 1-5. It's just what I needed:~D
It will be a busy week but I know on Sundays there will be knitting!!!

CAN I HEAR AN AMEN?

AMEN!

IT JUST GOES ON AND ON

No need to adjust your set. This is how it looks to me;~P
