Meathead VIII With Yet Another Butterfly Applique

GIVING UNTO OTHERS

Well I've got to the point in the Einstein coat where I'll be working on sleeves, but first I must knit unto others. It will be a nice break from all that black!
I finished some meathead hats. The pattern was adjusted to make a small/medium hat and I ended up with 9 yards left of the Lamb's Pride. The Lotus Pink hat I embellished by using precut tulle circles and making a yo yo and adding a pink button. The Deep Pine hat I put a premade bow. Look how Christmasy and festive! The scunci barrett is prettier than the picture makes it out to be. Any barrett would be a pretty addition. The appliques are some I had already and they look nice. Instead of using heat to fuse them I used Bond 527 multi-purpose cement. At a beading class I took long ago the lady who taught us used it quite a bit as she would make costumes for entertainers in Branson.
I've also got one of the red scarfs I'll be finishing during these two weeks of intensive giving. One of the members in Cloths For Crisis alerted us to this opportunity to make some 7" squares for some people who are entering Habitat For Humanity homes. I love giving squares as it makes it so special for everyone. Most people can afford to send a square or two and when all the squares come together it makes such a lovely symbol of united caring. It's one of the really good things about the internet community, knitters and crocheters especially. We can reach out to one another when there is a need. Isn't it a nice thing to be needed and know you can make a difference in the lives of people. It's one of the many things I'm thankful for.

Meathead II In Periwinkle And Dark Purpley Cascade 220

Meathead II With Pompom Embellishment

Meathead I In Aztec Turquoise
I ran out of yarn on row 15 and was fortunate to find some turquoise in Cascade 220 which I quadrupaled. I used some buttons I had from my bag-o-buttons I have in my stash. The pattern is not available at this time, but it's clear and easy. It takes about an hour and 45 minutes to make up. I look forward to making a few more as the majority will be going to The Dulaan Project. Let's see what else I can come up with:D

Large Preemie Boy Romper, Hat And Booties
Pattern for romper here. I used US size 5 needles. Have yet to put buttons and snaps on, but should get that done today and that will top out my box. Many in The Preemie Project Yahoo group have made this and it has been well recieved.

W Is For Wedding Cake Topper
Norm and I are not a very sophisticated, but more down to earth type people. I really liked our wedding cake topper because it represented to me purity, innocence, love, old fashioned sweetness. It will be 14 years on the 21st that we celebrated the sacrament of Holy Matrimony. We have not had an easy time of it, but our love and commitment to honor our vows has grown. What God has joined together, let no one separate!

KNIT UNTO OTHERS PART II

Yes, it's that time of year again when Carole and Margene have graciously decided to host Knit Unto Others. This KAL started as a way to stay grounded at this time of over-consumption and excessive giving. It will go on officially November 18-December 2.
I will be working on the two scarfs I already have ONT for The Red Scarf Project that Norma is hosting. I will likely cast on for some hats for The Dulaan Project. Read about it on Ryan's blog.
Today I am finishing up on a small box for The Preemie Project. Just needed a break from the Einstein coat!
I will be voting very shortly!
What a great privilege we have in America to be able to do so! Please do your part in being heard:D God bless you and may God bless America!
Our Lady of America please pray for us!
AMEN!!!
