THANKFUL AND KNITTING

Our cellist and the rest of the symphony gave a performance the morning we left to see my MIL. #2 and #3 liked their matching jammies and being at Grandma's house. The trip was long but the visit was good. We have much to be thankful for.
The packaged hats/booties were mailed that Wednesday morning. The other five and whatever else I can knit or sew up will make it on Dec. 9. The Knit Unto Others KAL is officially over, but I'll be knitting for others for as long as God allows.
This year has just flown by. Tomorrow is December 1! The little tree is up on the table this year. The boys have donned their Santa hats and are making their lists of wants. We got a late start getting back home so got to enjoy the Christmas lights along the way. It only rained on and off.
Home is a very good place to be. My thoughts and prayers go out to those who have lost homes and/or loved ones. May we all pray that we do that which is most pleasing to God Almighty in these very trying times.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and effectual and more piercing than any two edged sword and reaching unto the division of the soul and the spirit, of the joints also and the marrow: and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

PSALM 37
1 A psalm for David. For a remembrance of the sabbath.
2 Rebuke me not, O Lord, in thy indignation: nor chastise me in thy wrath.
3 For thy arrows are fastened in me: and thy hand hath been strong upon me.
4 There is no health in my flesh, because of thy wrath: there is no peace for my bones, because of my sins.
5 For my iniquities are gone over my head: and as a heavy burden are become heavy upon me.
6 My sores are putrified and corrupted, because of my foolishness.
7 I am become miserable, and am bowed down even to the end: I walked sorrowful all the day long.
8 For my loins are filled with illusions: and there is no health in my flesh.
9 I am afflicted and humbled exceedingly: I roared with the groaning of my heart.
10 Lord, all my desire is before thee: and my groaning is not hidden from thee.
11 My heart is troubled, my strength hath left me: and the light of my eyes itself is not with me.
12 My friends and my neighbours have drawn near, and stood against me. And they that were near me stood afar off.
13 And they that sought my soul used violence. And they that sought evils to me spoke vain things, and studied deceits all the day long.
14 But I, as a deaf man, heard not: and as a dumb man not opening his mouth.
15 And I became as a man that heareth not: and that hath no reproofs in his mouth.
16 For in thee, O Lord, have I hoped: thou wilt hear me, O Lord my God.
17 For I said: Lest at any time my enemies rejoice over me, and whilst my feet are moved, they speak great things against me.
18 For I am ready for scourges: and my sorrow is continually before me.
19 For I will declare my iniquity: and I will think for my sin.
20 But my enemies live, and are stronger than I: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.
21 They that render evil for good, have detracted me, because I followed goodness.
22 Forsake me not, O Lord my God: do not thou depart from me.
23 Attend unto my help, O Lord, the God of my salvation.

YOUR BIRTH VERSE

Taken from a meme at Julie D. at Happy Catholic blog who was tagged by Regina Clare Jane. I thought it'd be interesting to see. I'm using the Douay-Rheims version.
Matthew 3:13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to the Jordan, unto John, to be baptized by him.
Mark 3:13 And going up into a mountain, he called unto him whom he would himself. And they came to him.
Luke 3:13 But he said to them: Do nothing more than that which is appointed you.
John 3:13 And no man hath ascended into heaven, but he that descended from heaven, the Son of man who is in heaven.
Acts 3:13 The God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus, whom you indeed delivered up and denied before the face of Pilate, when he judged he should be released.
The Apocalypse 3:13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.
*******
OK now you do it! At least let it lead you to read from the book of life. May you always be blessed!

~YESTERDAY, TODAY, & FOREVER~

Yesterday is not only the title of a great Beatles song, but it is when I participated in my first Arts & Crafts Fair which benifited the Hispanic Ministry of Sacred Heart Church. It was held Sunday at St. Agnes gymnasium. I had a lot of compliments on my handwork and a few buyers. I bought a clay pot which I loooove! There is something about pottery that just touches my soul. Perhaps it's my Baptist upbringing..."Thou art the potter, I am the clay...". Each piece is so unique and the lady who made it is such a lovely person. She takes a lot of pride in her work and it shows!
I also purchaced a beautiful necklace that came from London, England. The vendor had georgeous jewelry from many different places. I could have spent all my money there but #1 son scolded me for my extravegance.
I've included some sky pictures. Sandy at sandysknitting blog has inspired me to look up more. Thanks Sandy! That's the forever part since Christ Jesus will return just as he ascended in the clouds. We can't spend all our time looking up, but it's comforting to think about His return.
Then out of sequince there is today. Norman's and my 13th wedding anniversary. Time has gone by so fast! We have had a lot of hard things to go through. We have much more to be grateful for. My gentle man loves me and I love him. Here's to many more years filled with love and kindness. I love you honey!!! Yesterday, today & forever!!! In Jesus' name. Amen!

WELCOME TO OUR SALE

Friday and Saturday we held an indoor sale. As you can see we have a bounty of goodies to sell. I haven't posted everything, but you get the idea. We still have a bunch of stuff left, but the cloths and baby hats/booties are spoken for. If anyone wants any info on anything just post. Saturday evening we heard the tornado sirens and got the kids battened down in the tub. I sure do miss the underground cellar we had for just such occassions, even with the spiders and the slugs. Thankfully all is well and the kids had an adventure. I've got a lot of knitting to do this week.
PROVERBS 31:6-13, 19-22
6Give strong drink to them that are sad: and wine to them that are grieved in mind: 7Let them drink, and forget their want, and remember their sorrow no more. 8Open thy mouth for the dumb, and for the causes of all the children that pass. 9Open thy mouth, decree that which is just: and do justice to the needy and poor. 10Who shall find a valieant woman? Far and from the uttermost coasts is the price of her. 11The heart of her busband trusteth in her: and he shall have no need of spoils. 12She will render him good, and not evil, all the days of her life. 13She hath sought wool and flax and hath wrought by the counsel of her hands.
.
19 She hath put out her hand to strong things: and her fingers have taken hold of the spindle. 20She hath opened her hand to the needy, and stretched out her hands to the poor. 21She shall not fear for her house in the cold of snow: for all her domestics are clothed with double garments. 22She hath made for herself clothing of tapestry: fine linen, and purple is her covering.

...A TIME TO MOURN...

Yesterday a parent's worst nightmare came true when Bailey Highfill collapsed and died at the school playground. Read about it here. Norm heard about it on the radio and for a second got that sinking feeling that it could be Daniel, but then he thought no, they said a first grader. Still...our hearts and prayers go out to the family of this little girl. Today when I dropped Daniel off the swings were wound up and some yellow ribbons and teddy bears were tied to the fence. I hope they make that area into a garden and move the swings. I cannot help but weep for the loss. I cannot imagine it since the pain and loss would be so very deep. I go to God's Word for comfort:
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
1All things have their season: and in their times all things pass under heaven.
2A time to be born, and a time to die. A time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.
3A time to kill, and a time to heal. A time to destroy, and a time to build.
4A time to weep, and a time to laugh. A time to mourn, and a time to dance.
5A time to scatter stones, and a time to gather. A time to embrace, and a time to be far from embrace.
6A time to get, and a time to lose. A time to keep, and a time to cast away.
7A time to rend, and a time to sew. A time to keep silence, and a time to speak.
8A time to love, and a time of hatred. A time of war, and a time of peace.

WHAT A LOVELY GESTURE...

Carolyn, who won my clapotis, sent me a most beautiful and generous gift of yarn from Cherry Tree Hill. What a lovely thing to do! Thank you SO MUCH!!! I've not worked much with sock weight yarn as I've resisted getting into the sock making addiction:D (I'm too busy making hats/booties and cloths) I may take your advice and make it into the clapotis you were going to:~) I'm so glad you are enjoying yours! Wear it in good health for many years!
